I've been waiting YEARS to make the trip from Mass to visit here. When the stars aligned and my boyfriend and I happened to be in NH, only 15 minutes down the road, we knew we had to stop in for a visit! We were welcomed by Sam and Blue; his handsome and friendly doggo. We spent the time chatting and handling his available hedgehogs. We fell in love and made the easy decision to take our sweet little boy Russell home with us. Before leaving with our new addition, he made sure to go over every step of caring for our hedgehog. He took the time to educate us and answered all of our questions. It was a very fun and personalized experience! We can't thank him enough for his time, knowledge, and hospitality. He is so dedicated to these animals and his business. He's beyond helpful and is truly JUST a text message away for any questions or concerns you might have. Came from boston to get my new hedgie and Sam was great from start to finish. Very knowledgeable, and didn't let us leave without us being confident about taking him home and making sure all our questions were answered. He's passionate about what he does and is always available for any questions. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to own or learn more about hedgehogs. I recently adopted Snuggles from this breeder. The owner is passionate about Hedgehogs and covers every aspect of caring for them. I’ve had hedgehogs in the past and still learned something new. Highly recommend Granite State Hedgehogs! Sam was awesome and went over everything with us. He took his time answering all of our questions (even my 8 yr olds one “how can you tell if the worms are male?” When talking about mealworms 😆). The shop was clean and had everything we needed for our new family member. They also have a chat feature on the website that allows us to reach the owner any time we have a question.

I am very particular when it comes to getting a pet. I currently live in Boston and did my research about hedgehogs and places in the area. There are several places much closer to me but I chose to drive an hour and a half twice! (I have gotten two hedgehogs from them) because of the amount of love, professionalism, and standard Granite State Hedgehogs hold themselves to. Every interaction has been felt from the day I sent the first message to when reaching out over a year later. Thanks for the experience and the hedgehogs. Highly recommend. I'm a first time hedgehog owner i came to see Sam from Massachusetts and bought my girl Lily she is so amazing!! Sam is a sweetheart and so very knowledgeable i didn't leave without all my questions answered. My wife and I have always wanted to take care of some sort of small animal, and on a whim after a bit of research decided to make the drive from Williston, VT to Granite State Hedgehogs.We were utterly blown away by the owner's knowledge, approachability, and help in answering any questions we could think of. We adopted a baby and all the supplies we needed to take care of them.When a heat bulb blew late our first night, the owner was very helpful in providing advice to deal with the situation, alleviating a lot of panic. I don't think I can recommend Granite State Hedgehogs enough overall.

We brought our girl Sunshine (now named Paris Quillton) home this past Saturday. We travelled to Franklin from Essex, Vermont and it was WELL worth the drive. When we walked in, we were so happy to see the owner, Sam. Sam is so knowledgeable and so passionate about the hedgies! He made sure to take the time to educate us on our new baby, even with people pouring in the door behind us. You can clearly tell that these little guys mean a lot to him and that he spends a good amount of time learning each hedgehog.As for the hedgehog, she is wonderful! She doesn’t mind being held, her ears touched, her face and belly touched…. As a matter of fact she seems to love it! She’s as sweet as can be and adapting nicely to her new home!I would 1000% recommend this place to not only anyone that may be interested in bringing home a baby themselves, but to others that want to expand their knowledge about such cute little creatures. I own many exotic pets and have never had such a wonderful experience bringing any of them home. Thank you Sam and Blue for our awesome girl and the experience!

I picked up my first hedgie last week from Granite State Hedgehogs and could not be more impressed! She came with a month supply of food, and the owner gave such a helpful explanation on her care, and also gave me a packet to take home which has been super helpful. It’s clear that he’s not only knowledgeable, but incredibly passionate about his hedgies, and I would absolutely make the trip from Maine again! I’m a first time hedgehog owner. I placed a deposit on my hedgie Arctic online, and went to go pick him up a week later. Sam the owner is so knowledgeable about these animals and are absolutely a passion of his. He is super nice and he went through all the things I need to know about them. Sam is also SUPER quick to respond to chats on the website. It was about 9pm one night and I thought there might have been something wrong with my sweet hedgie, and Sam responded almost immediately (there was nothing wrong with him). To me, that shows how much he truly cares for these animals and his business. My hedgie is super social and friendly because Sam takes the time to make them used to being handled. We just adopted our second hedgehog from Sam and the Granite State Hedgehog team. They raise happy, healthy, well-socialized hedgehogs, as well as provide tips and tricks for care and play before you take your new hedgehog home. They are always available via chat if you have any questions about your hedgehog after you take him/her home, and they sell all the toys/cages/extras you need at their store. They're extremely knowledgeable and I cannot recommend them enough to those who ask me "where do you even get a hedgehog from?!". We got a hedgehog from Sam at Granite State Hedgehogs as a Christmas gift for my adult daughter. They are every bit as adorable in person as they are in pictures. We housed the baby for about a week so it could be a surprise on Christmas Day, and we fell in love. So we'll be seeing Sam for one of our own soon. Sam was great to work with! Super easy and smooth process to adopt. I ordered Scarlet online and drove down to pick her up. Sam let me hold her whole he put together the paperwork and then gave me all of the info needed to care for her! I was blown away by how friendly she was with me. You can tell Sam gives his hedgies lots of attention! When we got home, she instantly began eating and settled right in.

Got my baby hedgehog in September 2021. Made my deposit online and went to pick her up two weeks later. No hassle at all. The staff love the animals and know everything about their care and health. You can purchase a cage and travel case among other accessories in the store. You’ll be given a guarantee for accommodation in the case your hedgehog has a degenerative neurological disease.

He answered all of our questions and concerns and with that, we placed our deposit. Also impressive is that after we placed our deposit, our chosen hedgie baby was removed from available babies.We arrived the next day. The drive to Franklin was great and Franklin itself was a cute little town worth exploring.The shop itself was easy to find and had ample parking along Franklin Street. We were able to park in front of the shop.The shop was amazing, it was very clean and well organized. You can find anything you need here for your hedges, they even have gifts and t-shirts for us heggie lovers. There are two open cages, one for the hedgies that have progressed past infancy and one where you are able to hold and start the bonding process with your new little love.Sam himself is welcoming, funny, and very very knowledgeable. You could immediately tell that he is proud of his shop and emanates love for all his animals.The process at the store was so carefree and enjoyable. We highly recommend that you pick up "The Ultimate Cage Setup". This has everything from A to Z to give your little love everything they need. It's a no brainer. ;). We were able to pick out every individual thing that came with the kit so it could be color coordinated if you want. There are also some upgrades that you can purchase for the Ultimate Ultimate package.So out comes are little Brooklyn, aka Miss Brooke. What a bundle of love. Sam explained everything in detail and even gave us some tips to help her get bonded to us. A little gentle rubbing on the top of their heads goes a long way.Once we spent about 1/2 hour bonding with her, we placed her in her carrier for the journey home. Sam started in with the adoption process. He was very easy going, knowledgeable, and gave plenty of opportunities for questions.We signed the paperwork and went over "The Book". lol. It was a document on an iPad that goes everything you need to know as a first time hedgie parent, full of tips and tricks, and important information. After this is completed, an exact copy of everything you signed and "The Book" are delivered to your email box.So I wouldn't miss anything in all my excitement I asked Sam if I may record the lesson and he welcomed it. Wanted to make sure that we were completely comfortable.So in closing. If you are thinking about becoming a hedgie parent, give Sam a call, better yet, visit his shop. Wonderful experience with Sam. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. He answered my chats very quickly before my purchase. My hedgehog was handled from birth and very social already when I picked her up. She came home and settled in quickly. This store also has all the supplies you would need for your hedgehog. Today I traveled to granite state hedgehogs to pick up Toffee...Sam, the owner, Is passionate, knowledgable and licensed as a breeder for these fantastic animals. I highly recommend him and his shop. Hands down the best and most thorough experience and education provided in purchasing of my new companion. Toffee has spent the last 2 hours rooting around in her perfect cage set up, also provided with all bells and whistles. We drove 6 hours to get my daughter's hedgehog and he was worth every penny. He is so sweet and Sam was a pleasure to work with. I got my first hedgehog today. After years of wanting one I was finally able to get one and I am just in love! I wanted to stay local when looking for a place that sells hedgehogs and was really excited when I found Granite State Hedgehogs. The reviews are amazing and I just knew it would be the perfect place. From the website to the actual building everything was easy, friendly, and clean. Sam was very welcoming (and Blue), polite, and helpful. He allowed me to bond with the hedgehog I chose and see if he was a good fit, he is. When it came to the end of the transacting Sam gave me very helpful information on my new friend to keep him healthy and safe. He even has the resource of the online live chat for whenever anyone has questions and let me just say I am super thankful for it. Went here to get a hedgehog for my sons birthday. It’s a 2 n 1/2 hour drive and worth every minute. Sam was super helpful and informative. The facility is super clean and cute. We stopped by on our way through this area wondering what it was all about. The man who owns it was so nice and knowledgeable. He allowed my kids and I to hold a hedgehog and even brought out a baby hedgehog to show us. I don't think we will be getting a hedge hog but if we ever did this would be the place to get one! As a first time hedgehog owner this place made me feel ready! Their shop was super cute and clean. Everything was very professional! The workers were also supper nice! Sam helped us pick out our stuff and get our baby. We also were emailed a form of his birthday etc and a booklet with hedgehog tips and trick that Sam went over with us in the store. Sam even carried the cage setup out to our car for us! I’m so impressed and happy with granite state. I loved it there and I’m sure you would too! We picked up ‘Harley’ on New Year’s Day and we could not have kicked off the new year any better. ‘Harley’ is now ‘Ollie’ and we are just head over heels in love with the little guy. He is sweet, fun, and has a wonderful personality. As new hedgie parents we weren’t sure what to expect but ‘Ollie’ has made us hedgehog crazy (in a good way). 4 years ago I did a year of research before considering bringing a hedgehog into my life. I found Granite State Hedgehogs during that research and began using their chat asking questions before I purchased my first boy from them 🥰 sadly pets do not out live us and Niffler passed away. I told myself that I would not get another hedgehog until I fell in love with a baby hedgehog picture on Granite State Hedgehogs website, I saw "Chip" and immediately fell in love. This place was a pleasant for both children and adults if you want to see hedgehogs. What I want to make note, those little animals are sensitive, need to be carried with a lot of care. I recently bought and picked up Olaf from them. They were incredibly patient and knowledgeable. They emailed everything I would need to know about him, which they also went over when I picked him up. I was coming from over an hour away and they stayed open for me when I was running late. Olaf came already socialized even though he was only 6 weeks which made the transition very smooth for him. He is such a sweet hedgehog and loves to be held and carried around. I will definitely do further business with them and have suggested others to check them out as well.

My boyfriend and I were up in Bethlehem hiking and for a while now he’s been researching on caring for and keeping a hedgehog as a pet. Sure enough, an hour into our ride home was Granite State Hedgehogs. He contacted Ayane and she was so quick to respond. We were matched with our 6week old girl hedgehog, Sasha! Best thing is that even though closed on a Monday, we were able to make an appointment with co owner Sam to meet her, very inconvenient as we reside in central MA.We picked her out, Sam gave us a full lowdown on how to care for her, and they even provided us a health guarantee, so we are confident in taking home our new family member and not running into any issues. Sam was able to answer all our questions, provide us adequate sources via the booklet they provide us for vets, food, etc. All in all, for a first-time investment in a new animal, this was far from a situation that could of left us anxious. Grateful for Ayane and Sam’s time, and how easy it is to continue communicating with them if we ever had any questions. No photos at the moment, as she’s completely tucked in after a two hour ride home, but she will be unconditionally loved. Thank you GSH.

My boyfriend and I purchased a hedgehog named “Cookie” today (his new name is Onyx). I highly recommend getting a hedgehog from here if you’re looking to get one! We were greeted by Sam when we arrived and he was very nice. He brought out a few hedgehogs out for me to choose from and was very patient with me while I made my decision. Onyx is very chill and doesn’t mind handling which is great, you can definitely tell they really care about their hedgehogs. I hadn't been able to find any well handled hedgehogs at home and I had been searching for months. I went on vacation to Maine and found they were on my way home so I reserved a hedgehog to get him on my way home. I was a little worried that they weren't open on the day I was going home so I called them. Sam came in just so I could come in, interact with Gus and bring him home. I was so impressed that he took time out of his day to come in just so he could help me understand my hedgehog better and let me bring him home with me. You can definitely tell they care about their hedgehogs because Gus is already super friendly with me and because of all the time Sam took to help me understand how to best care for him. He also let me know that they have a real time messaging system on their website that could get me into contact with them and get help with anything up to needing a vet for Gus. If I get another hedgehog it will be through them. Loved this place!

I have had my baby for about three days now! My boyfriend and I drove down to New Hampshire on Thursday to pick up our baby Pamina (formally pixie) as our first pet! The people who run this place are truly amazing. They’re so sweet and genuinely care about the hedgehogs they have and are breeding. We drove 2hrs to get to this place after being not being able to find one in MA. In MA we went to this pet store where I knew that had them but they had one left and it was sold. Then I came across this place and my mind was blown away. The website is so neat and organized. Their store is beautiful and you can truly tell how genuine they really are. I feel so happy I got the hedgehog from here and not that other pet store I mentioned. Granite state hedgehogs gave us an hour lesson on everything we needed to know to keep our hedgehog happy! Also they have an amazing text message system on their website that is awesome. They respond pretty quick and you can ask pretty any question about your hedgehog and they will give the best advice they can. I just can’t say enough how amazing this place was. Finding a trustworthy place to find a hedgehog is really hard when you’re in New England, and I was referred to granite state by 3 different businesses. If you’re looking to get a hedgehog, I would 1000% go through granite state, and waiting for more hedgehogs to be available would be more worth it than finding a different place to get your hedgie. He spent a great deal of time with us making sure our almost 10 year old and both parents were comfortable handling Scout. He went over the most important things we needed to know and sent me information via e-mail that we have already referred to several times in caring for our new addition. We also bought the ultimate cage package from Granite State. I highly recommend it! It came with all the basics! Sam even went so far as to check the heat lamp before we left to be sure Scout had a working lamp when we arrived home. Communication with Granite State Hedgehogs is also quick and easy through their chat function on the website. I communicated with them several times, and found them to be very responsive and helpful. I cannot recommend Granite State Hedgehogs!

Today, my boyfriend and I came in to pick up our new hedgehog, Stella (formerly known as Brownie), and we are first time hedgehog owners. I am beyond pleased. Never having owned a hedgehog before, I researched...watched videos...and thoroughly thought this through. I was so nervous. Would my hedgehog like me? Would this be a difficult adjustment for her? Would I regret this? Nope. Not at all! It's my first night with this precious baby and she is just the sweetest. Totally comfortable with me and my husband. Eating her food, drinking her water, very much loves when I hold her next to my chest, wrapped in my favorite bathrobe. She's just a baby but has an amazing personality and a great trust with me. I love this little soul so much. I highly recommend this breeder.

I absolutely looooooved my experience at Granite State Hedgehogs! It was a 2 hour drive for me but it was well worth it. They are so professional and knowledgeable, nice, and personable. The location is clean and appealing. She was willing to meet me when it was almost ready to close and there was someone after me, so they can be flexible with appointments due to COVID. I picked out Peppermint, and he was such a sweet lil man. Of course he's alittle huffy now that he's in a new environment but he is still amazing and I love him.I came into Granite State Hedgehogs with a whole list of questions and while she was going through all the information about hedgehogs she managed to answer all my questions without me even having to ask. She is always willing to answer questions over chat and responds quickly and is willing to work with you with any issues. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a hedgehogs, and if I ever want another one I know where to go!

If I could give Jay and Ayane’s shop 100 stars, I would! First off, I’ve had hedgehogs in the past (purchased from your average pet shop), sadly both my hedgehogs passed away in under a week because the breeder had no idea what he was doing when he sold them to the pet shop and they were sick when sold to me (I was only 15 years old and devastated). The pet stores’ response was “must have been a bad batch”. That being said, I’ve waited years to commit to another hedgehog. I finally took my chances and found GSH on google. I immediately fell in love with Olaf and purchased right away! (I recommend buying the ultimate cage setup because it comes with EVERYTHING!!) I was so in love with Olaf, that I came back about two months later and purchased another hedgehog, Dakota!! I can’t thank the owners enough! They are so friendly and ALWAYS take the time to answer my questions on the chat/phone and they never rush me! I’ve NEVER experienced the amount of help these owners have given from any other pet expert! This shop is so wholesome and family oriented, I love it! I will be back to purchase more perfect hedgehogs!! Thank you guys so much, I can’t get enough!! I even drove two hours to pick up Dakota up and it was so worth it!! We just got Brillo from Granite State Hedgehogs and could not be happier. He was delivered right to our home in Maine. Jay came in, set up the cage, and willingly and knowledgeably answered all our questions. Brillo is settling in so nicely. He is friendly, cuddly, active, and funny. The owner met us after hours when we didn't realize there were special Covid policies in place, which was very kind. She was very knowledgeable and walked me through the care sheet that she emailed me, and also said she is available for any questions that come up. I drove all the way from Maine to pick up my boy Kuiil (formerly known as Spike) from here today! I can solidly say Granite State Hedgehogs is the place to go for hedgehogs. It was totally worth the 4 hour drive! They sell all the hedgehog essentials and I enjoyed how knowledgeable they are. I have been watching the available babies for a few years and I knew I wanted a baby but I kept putting it off. I recent saw Arya and I absolutely fell in love and I knew it was time to take the plunge. I put my deposit down and made my appointment to pick her up. I went yesterday to get her and Ayane couldn’t have been more helpful. She was patient while both Arya and I met, and gave me useful tips on caring for my new baby. I didn’t have many questions because so much was carefully explained to me but I was assured that if I did have any questions they would gladly answer them for me. I was able to buy everything I needed for Arya’s set up and I now her all set up in her new home. My family has all fallen in love with Arya. I can’t recommend Granite State Hedgehogs enough. Everyone who has seen pictures of Arya have fallen in love with her and a few people have asked where I got her and I’m sending them directly to Jay and Ayane!

The owners are amazing and have a wonderful shop. It's mostly about the hedgehogs but there were supplies for other animals as well and a bakery case that made me drool. Their website is fantastic and packed full of anything you would need to know about taking care of hedgehogs. Even though that info is there, they were both kind and patient to answer all of our questions. When we picked up the baby my daughter picked we were told what everything was and how to set it up. You can tell that they really care about the animals and that they were well taken care of. It was a great experience and we look forward to going back. I can't recommend them enough!

We saw Ayane when we went to pick up my daughter's baby and she could not have been any nicer. Both owners are extremely nice, knowledgeable, kind and patient. She spent an unlimited amount of time with us and answered all of our questions. There is so much information available from them and we were told to contact them anytime for questions or help. The store is adorable and offers so many great products and the prices are great! It was a bit of a ride for us but would never hesitate to go there. I highly recommend them. Granite State Hedgehogs is great! I picked up my little one less than a week ago. She is the sweetest thing. She has not become an angry spiky ball at all since I’ve brought her home. I I love their web chat function as well. They respond quickly and gladly answer any questions. They even emailed me once they had listed more female babies. Their hedgehogs are backed by a fantastic health guarantee. This is so important as too many hedgehogs succumb to terrible diseases from poor breeding. They have a lifetime wobbly hedgehog health guarantee! They were incredibly thorough with all of the information they presented me, and you can tell they put a lot of time and care into their hedgehogs.

I went into the store in October to have a look around as I was new to the area and heard about this store from some friends and coworkers, I walked in just to have a look around and was in awe of how many they had! They were all so cute! One very small issue, but doesn’t affect my review, is I didn’t receive everything listed on the ultimate cage setup. But I think it is because the owners had just opened up and I was breathing down their neck. It’s not a big deal, but maybe in the future GSH could run through and make sure everything on the list is given.
Again a very minor issue, and doesn’t affect the review because they were so sweet and well knowledgeable.

What a great place! I just got my baby yesterday. She is so lovey. Our first hedgie wanted nothing to do with us at first was huffy and puffy. You could tell he wasn't handled much. She is the exact opposite. You can tell they handle them often so they are not so scared. I went to hold her for the first time and all she wanted to do was snuggle. The owner was so helpful with any questions we had. An amazing experience!

I can’t recommend them enough! I’ve had my little hedgie for a couple of months now and she is just so friendly and smart! She litter trained with ease, she doesn’t mind the bath, she puts up little to no fight when having her nails done, her vet says she’s the best behaved hedgehog they see, she loves snuggles, and even puts her nose out for kisses practically on demand! Her happy chirps and hiccups have lit up our lives in a way we never could have anticipated. The love and attention Granite State gives their babies is abundantly evident!

I got my baby girl Penelope here a year ago and I would recommend it to anyone interested in getting a hedgehog! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, they were able to answer all my questions and their cage packages are great for starting you out with everything you’ll need for your new baby! Granite State Hedgehog was amazing. My daughter has been asking to get a hedgehog for a very long time and after much research we decided to take a road trip to meet these little ones. If I could give this place more than 5 stars then I would! About a month and a half ago I lost my rescue hedgehog to cancer. After one night of not listening to his wheel go, I decided that I needed to have a hedgehog in my life. I then contacted Samantha and luckily she had a litter that was available that Saturday! I was beyond excited. After putting down my deposit and picking out Daphnie I was beyond excited. Daphnie has been the best pet ever and has turned into a little diva! I picked up my little boy Chester yesterday I drove 5 hours to get to Granite State Hedgehogs shop, such a cute little shop. Not only was it very clean and professional, both Sam and her husband were so knowledgeable and helpful. I was very confident in leaving with my cute new little pet and even learned a few things while I was there. I've had him for 1 day now and Sam has been nothing but helpful when I have questions, I just shoot her a text and she is more than willing to lend out a helping hand and suggestions when in need. My fiance and I are getting a hedgehog and in doing our research we don't feel comfortable getting one from anywhere but here. We've been in to the shop numerous times to hold and play with the hedgehogs and every time we ask tons of questions and Sam is always there to answer and inform us. They carry everything you need for your hog and made sure you are well prepared for your new pet! Our new baby, Pumpkin, is the sweetest little Hedgie and you can tell that GSH cares about all of the animals and their well being. The store is clean, smells fresh and they're friendly and answer all of your questions and encourage you to visit with the hedgies. The animals are all healthy, happy and very pleasant.
What impressed me as well is how when I called to make a deposit, my phone number is from a state which hedgehogs are illegal (I moved to NH from PA) and they asked me about the number just to double check. I appreciated that they care enough about their animals to ask about that.

Samantha and Jay are both great. I lost my first hedgehog to WHS and the breeder was unsupportive and frankly didn't care (she suggested Penny just wasn't warm enough even after the countless vet visits). Needless to say, after my first experience I was hesitant about getting another one. Samantha and Jay were responsive and answered all of my questions thoughtfully. You can tell they're genuine people who love what they do! I picked up Pearl in June and she is such a love bug. She wants nothing more than to snuggle in your lap all day and gobble down mealworms. Oh and her colors are beautiful!! I've never seen one like her before. I'm so thankful for them - I will be going back to them for all my future hedgehogs!

They were great through the whole waiting period until Athena arrived. We live in New York so it was a bit of a drive to go get her, and they made sure we had what we needed for bringing her home. Love them. We have an albino female named Luna, she is the cutest little thing, day two and I can pick her up without much issue. Looking forward to bonding with her. Jay and Samantha were great! I am very particular when it comes to getting a pet. I currently live in Boston and did my research about hedgehogs and places in the area. There are several places much closer to me but I chose to drive an hour and a half twice! Sam is awesome! Super friendly, professional and incredibly knowledgeable. He made the process for us adopting Pixie easy and answered all of our questions big and small. It is very easy to use the Granite State Hedgehog website. We were able to order our hedgehog quickly and we are so happy to have her. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy a hedgehog. Made a visit less than an hour before closing time. Sam answered all of our questions and was patient with letting us make the decision to add to our family. My wife and I have always wanted to take care of some sort of small animal, and on a whim after a bit of research decided to make the drive from Williston, VT to Granite State Hedgehogs.We were utterly blown away by the owner's knowledge, approachability, and help in answering any questions we could think of. We adopted a baby and all the supplies we needed to take care of them.When a heat bulb blew late our first night, the owner was very helpful in providing advice to deal with the situation, alleviating a lot of panic. I don't think I can recommend Granite State Hedgehogs enough overall.

Sam was awesome, small sanfu from Google giving the wrong hours(check their website first), he very awesomely came a took are of me even though the shop was "open". Which I appreciated greatly, I can say enough about how awesome this shop is and how much they truely care about the well being of the animals they sell. We brought our girl Sunshine (now named Paris Quillton) home this past Saturday. We travelled to Franklin from Essex, Vermont and it was WELL worth the drive. When we walked in, we were so happy to see the owner, Sam. Sam is so knowledgeable and so passionate about the hedgies! He made sure to take the time to educate us on our new baby, even with people pouring in the door behind us. You can clearly tell that these little guys mean a lot to him and that he spends a good amount of time learning each hedgehog.As for the hedgehog, she is wonderful! She doesn’t mind being held, her ears touched, her face and belly touched…. As a matter of fact she seems to love it! She’s as sweet as can be and adapting nicely to her new home!I would 1000% recommend this place to not only anyone that may be interested in bringing home a baby themselves, but to others that want to expand their knowledge about such cute little creatures. I own many exotic pets and have never had such a wonderful experience bringing any of them home. Thank you Sam and Blue for our awesome girl and the experience!

I picked up my first hedgie last week from Granite State Hedgehogs and could not be more impressed! She came with a month supply of food, and the owner gave such a helpful explanation on her care, and also gave me a packet to take home which has been super helpful. It’s clear that he’s not only knowledgeable, but incredibly passionate about his hedgies, and I would absolutely make the trip from Maine again! She’s been the perfect addition to our little family, and I was given all the confidence I needed to care for her properly ☺️

I’m a first time hedgehog owner. I placed a deposit on my hedgie Arctic online, and went to go pick him up a week later. Sam the owner is so knowledgeable about these animals and are absolutely a passion of his. He is super nice and he went through all the things I need to know about them. Sam is also SUPER quick to respond to chats on the website. It was about 9pm one night and I thought there might have been something wrong with my sweet hedgie, and Sam responded almost immediately (there was nothing wrong with him). To me, that shows how much he truly cares for these animals and his business. My hedgie is super social and friendly because Sam takes the time to make them used to being handled. We just adopted our second hedgehog from Sam and the Granite State Hedgehog team. They raise happy, healthy, well-socialized hedgehogs, as well as provide tips and tricks for care and play before you take your new hedgehog home. They are always available via chat if you have any questions about your hedgehog after you take him/her home, and they sell all the toys/cages/extras you need at their store. They're extremely knowledgeable and I cannot recommend them enough to those who ask me "where do you even get a hedgehog from?!". We got a hedgehog from Sam at Granite State Hedgehogs as a Christmas gift for my adult daughter. They are every bit as adorable in person as they are in pictures. We housed the baby for about a week so it could be a surprise on Christmas Day, and we fell in love. So we'll be seeing Sam for one of our own soon. Sam was great to work with! Super easy and smooth process to adopt. I ordered Scarlet online and drove down to pick her up. Sam let me hold her whole he put together the paperwork and then gave me all of the info needed to care for her! I was blown away by how friendly she was with me. You can tell Sam gives his hedgies lots of attention! When we got home, she instantly began eating and settled right in.

Got my baby hedgehog in September 2021. Made my deposit online and went to pick her up two weeks later. No hassle at all. The staff love the animals and know everything about their care and health. I bought my little guy almost 5 years ago and they were the best 5 years of my life. Axel was my little buddy through college and he was a brave curious little spikey nugget until the very end. He answered all of our questions and concerns and with that, we placed our deposit. Also impressive is that after we placed our deposit, our chosen hedgie baby was removed from available babies.We arrived the next day. The drive to Franklin was great and Franklin itself was a cute little town worth exploring.The shop itself was easy to find and had ample parking along Franklin Street. We were able to park in front of the shop.The shop was amazing, it was very clean and well organized. You can find anything you need here for your hedges, they even have gifts and t-shirts for us heggie lovers. There are two open cages, one for the hedgies that have progressed past infancy and one where you are able to hold and start the bonding process with your new little love.Sam himself is welcoming, funny, and very very knowledgeable. A little gentle rubbing on the top of their heads goes a long way.Once we spent about 1/2 hour bonding with her, we placed her in her carrier for the journey home. Sam started in with the adoption process. He was very easy going, knowledgeable, and gave plenty of opportunities for questions.We signed the paperwork and went over "The Book". lol. It was a document on an iPad that goes everything you need to know as a first time hedgie parent, full of tips and tricks, and important information. After this is completed, an exact copy of everything you signed and "The Book" are delivered to your email box.So I wouldn't miss anything in all my excitement I asked Sam if I may record the lesson and he welcomed it. Wanted to make sure that we were completely comfortable.So in closing. If you are thinking about becoming a hedgie parent, give Sam a call, better yet, visit his shop. Today I traveled to granite state hedgehogs to pick up Toffee...Sam, the owner, Is passionate, knowledgable and licensed as a breeder for these fantastic animals. I highly recommend him and his shop. Hands down the best and most thorough experience and education provided in purchasing of my new companion. Toffee has spent the last 2 hours rooting around in her perfect cage set up, also provided with all bells and whistles. I got my first hedgehog today. After years of wanting one I was finally able to get one and I am just in love! I wanted to stay local when looking for a place that sells hedgehogs and was really excited when I found Granite State Hedgehogs. The reviews are amazing and I just knew it would be the perfect place. From the website to the actual building everything was easy, friendly, and clean. Sam was very welcoming (and Blue), polite, and helpful. He allowed me to bond with the hedgehog I chose and see if he was a good fit, he is. When it came to the end of the transacting Sam gave me very helpful information on my new friend to keep him healthy and safe. He even has the resource of the online live chat for whenever anyone has questions and let me just say I am super thankful for it. As a new owner I’m gonna have a few questions at some point and it’s nice to have a trustworthy source like Sam. We stopped by on our way through this area wondering what it was all about. The man who owns it was so nice and knowledgeable. As a first time hedgehog owner this place made me feel ready! Their shop was super cute and clean. Everything was very professional! The workers were also supper nice! Sam helped us pick out our stuff and get our baby. We also were emailed a form of his birthday etc and a booklet with hedgehog tips and trick that Sam went over with us in the store. Sam even carried the cage setup out to our car for us! I’m so impressed and happy with granite state. I loved it there and I’m sure you would too! Not to mention all the hedgehogs were in great shape, heathy, and super sweet! Definetly recommend!

We picked up ‘Harley’ on New Year’s Day and we could not have kicked off the new year any better. ‘Harley’ is now ‘Ollie’ and we are just head over heels in love with the little guy. He is sweet, fun, and has a wonderful personality. As new hedgie parents we weren’t sure what to expect but ‘Ollie’ has made us hedgehog crazy (in a good way). I would definitely recommend Granite State Hedgehog if you are considering a hedgie. They were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions to ensure we were confident taking our lil’ guy home.

I absolutely loved this place and highly recommend it! We had the pleasure of having Sam help my daughter pick out her first hedgehog, Daisy. He was very patient and answered all of our questions. Sam also went out of his way to help me pull off a little Christmas surprise for my daughter. Daisy's doing amazingly well and is a welcomed addition to our family! :)

First time hedgie mom Picked up my baby Moose 1/20 he is amazing and adjusting greatly! Highly recommend this establishment they are very knowledgeable and take obvious great care of these amazing babies. Sam was awesome I left feeling very confident that I had all of the necessary supplies and information. As well as knowing they are available should any questions come up. they were also gracious about working with me on picking him up a little late due to my work schedule. Well worth the drive!

Such an amazing place! I got help from Sam and he was fantastic with answering all and any questions I had. He makes sure no one leaves the store without knowing absolutely everything there is to know about how to care for hedgehogs. The baby hedgehogs are the cutest and sweetest things ever and I can't wait to get to know my new baby Penny.

4 years ago I did a year of research before considering bringing a hedgehog into my life. I found Granite State Hedgehogs during that research and began using their chat asking questions before I purchased my first boy from them 🥰 sadly pets do not out live us and Niffler passed away. I told myself that I would not get another hedgehog until I fell in love with a baby hedgehog picture on Granite State Hedgehogs website, I saw "Chip" and immediately fell in love. Today I met with them and brought my new little boy home and he has won over my heart for sure. Sam was awesome and it is clear they care about their Hedgehogs and want the best for them. Popsicle, AKA Franklin (based on the town he was born in!) has been an amazing addition to the family. He's happy, healthy, and couldn't be more adorable. Sam was really great with the introduction. I felt like I knew what to expect after his lesson on ownership. The shop is clean, well lit, and well stocked. It is an awesome little place! Highly recommend!

This place was a pleasant for both children and adults if you want to see hedgehogs. What I want to make note, those little animals are sensitive, need to be carried with a lot of care. Otherwise, a very fun experience. I do plan on buying a set of them in the future. Thank for allowing of to carry those little guys.

I recently bought and picked up Olaf from them. They were incredibly patient and knowledgeable. They emailed everything I would need to know about him, which they also went over when I picked him up. I was coming from over an hour away and they stayed open for me when I was running late. Olaf came already socialized even though he was only 6 weeks which made the transition very smooth for him. He is such a sweet hedgehog and loves to be held and carried around. I will definitely do further business with them and have suggested others to check them out as well.

I received my baby boy Yeti (formally diamond) a couple weeks ago. He is the absolute sweetest and happiest little boy!! He’s healthy active and you can tell well socialized :) thank you so much for my little man!

I got my baby three years ago in October. They are amazing people and today 10/5/21 at 10:15 pm, my baby passed. She was three years old and the most amazing hedgehog in the world. I got my little Hedgie back in the mid of July, I was super nervous about picking up him up because I am a first time Hedgie mom but Sam did an amazing job answering every single question and made me feel super comfortable in regards to hedgehog care. I would highly recommend getting your hedgie from here as they are so super helpful and always answer any question you have promptly!Here is a picture of my little Hamilton chilling on the couch enjoying his new home! I just picked up my first hedgie today and was very pleased with my experience. Sam was excellent and knowledgeable. I was nervous going in to pick up Felix, but that all went away after talking through the best way to care for my new hedgehog! I will not hesitate to go back if I am ever in need of another friend.I also feel that their willingness to answer any questions or concerns that I may have going forward shows the true integrity of the owners and shop.

My girlfriend and I got our hedgehog Midnight about 2 weeks ago. Sam was very nice and told us everything we needed to know. We felt very comfortable there and I would recommend anyone who wants to buy a hedgehog to get one from here. Sam also has a dog there for safety which I thought was nice and made me feel safe as well. The hedgehogs seem very well taken care of and Midnight has not gave us any trouble.5 stars.

My boyfriend and I were up in Bethlehem hiking and for a while now he’s been researching on caring for and keeping a hedgehog as a pet. Sure enough, an hour into our ride home was Granite State Hedgehogs. He contacted Ayane and she was so quick to respond. We were matched with our 6week old girl hedgehog, Sasha! Best thing is that even though closed on a Monday, we were able to make an appointment with co owner Sam to meet her, very inconvenient as we reside in central MA.We picked her out, Sam gave us a full lowdown on how to care for her, and they even provided us a health guarantee, so we are confident in taking home our new family member and not running into any issues. Sam was able to answer all our questions, provide us adequate sources via the booklet they provide us for vets, food, etc. All in all, for a first-time investment in a new animal, this was far from a situation that could of left us anxious. Grateful for Ayane and Sam’s time, and how easy it is to continue communicating with them if we ever had any questions. No photos at the moment, as she’s completely tucked in after a two hour ride home, but she will be unconditionally loved. Thank you GSH.

My boyfriend and I purchased a hedgehog named “Cookie” today (his new name is Onyx). I highly recommend getting a hedgehog from here if you’re looking to get one! We were greeted by Sam when we arrived and he was very nice. He brought out a few hedgehogs out for me to choose from and was very patient with me while I made my decision. Onyx is very chill and doesn’t mind handling which is great, you can definitely tell they really care about their hedgehogs. Sam answered any questions I had and let me know if I had any question in the future to just text the live chat they provide on their website. I will definitely be coming back for hedgehog products and maybe even another hedgehog soon! Overall great experience!

I hadn't been able to find any well handled hedgehogs at home and I had been searching for months. I went on vacation to Maine and found they were on my way home so I reserved a hedgehog to get him on my way home. I was a little worried that they weren't open on the day I was going home so I called them. Sam came in just so I could come in, interact with Gus and bring him home. I was so impressed that he took time out of his day to come in just so he could help me understand my hedgehog better and let me bring him home with me. You can definitely tell they care about their hedgehogs because Gus is already super friendly with me and because of all the time Sam took to help me understand how to best care for him. He also let me know that they have a real time messaging system on their website that could get me into contact with them and get help with anything up to needing a vet for Gus. If I get another hedgehog it will be through them. Loved this place!

We traveled 2 hours to go pick up our hedgehog. It was WELL worth it. Sam was amazing help! I do not recommend going on craigslist to get a hedgehog. Spend the extra dollar and go to Granite State. We love our Mojo!
