MARCH 12, 2019 / PLAY
Playtime can provide your hedgehog with hours of enjoyment. Even though they're not typically described as "chewers" if curious enough, they can nibble on electrical wires, so it is always a good idea to keep them away from your hedgehog while it is playing.
Your hedgehog may be litter box trained, but is is also likely that he/she will potty anywhere outside the cage when they get the urge to go. Make sure the floor can be easily cleaned and that you don't let them play on objects that can become soggy or wet.
Plastic kiddie pools can be a great place to let your hedgehog exercise and play. There's also "playpen" style products on the market that work well. Whatever your choice, you'll want to make sure the sides are smooth preventing your hedgehog from climbing out.
